KARACHI -- Police killed two kidnappers and detained two suspected members of a banned sectarian outfit during separate operations in Karachi, Sindh Province, and in Bahawalpur District, Punjab Province.
A joint raid by the Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and Anti-Violent Crime Cell early Tuesday (January 24) in Karachi killed the abductors, CPLC chief Zubair Habib said, according to Geo News.
The kidnappers had seized a 16-year-old boy on January 5 and were demanding ransom, Habib said, adding that the forces rescued the hostage.
Separately, Punjab Police Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel detained two suspected members of a banned outfit during a raid in Bahawalpur District, Dunya TV reported Tuesday (January 24).
The detainees were planning to attack prominent personalities, a CTD source said, adding that they had hand grenades in their possession at the time of the arrest.
