ISLAMABAD -- Pakistani forces arrested 12 suspected militants and seized weapons and ammunition during raids in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Balochistan, Dawn reported Wednesday (January 18).
The 12 suspects, all nabbed in GB, were affiliated with the separatist Balawaristan National Front and participated in anti-state activities, GB Inspector General of Police Zafar Iqbal Aiwan said.
Police seized numerous firearms from the suspects and uncovered an Rs. 300 to 350 million (US $2.8 to $3.3 million) money trail linked to purchases of weapons and properties, he said.
In Pashin District, Balochistan, the Frontier Corps found a buried weapon cache, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
The weapons belonged to the Balochistan Liberation Army, ISPR added.
