Karachi policeman killed; Islamabad man set on fire

ISLAMABAD -- A policeman was killed in Karachi, while a transgender Islamabad man is recovering from burns after his extortionist allegedly set him on fire, media reported.

Unknown assailants on a motorcycle Wednesday (January 11) in Karachi killed police constable Mohammad Khalid, Jamshed Town Superintendent of Police Tahir Ahmed Noorani confirmed, Geo News reported.

Separately, the Rangers Tuesday (January 10) in Karachi seized a weapon and ammunition cache from a graveyard, a Rangers spokesman said, according to Geo News.

A man complained to the Rawalpindi City Police Office that an extortionist set his transgender brother Aqeel on fire for failing to pay him on time, Dawn reported Tuesday (January 10).

Aqeel is hospitalised.
