Pakistan observes 2nd anniversary of Taliban school massacre

Staff Report

PESHAWAR -- Pakistan on Friday (December 16) commemorated the second anniversary of the terrorist massacre at the Army Public School (APS) in Peshawar, with army chief Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa vowing to avenge every slain pupil.

Taliban militants on December 16, 2014, invaded the school and killed about 150 people, almost all of them children and teachers.

Bajwa attended a ceremony at the school and laid a wreath and offered prayers before speaking to bereaved families, Dunya News reported.

"We can't forget those children," Bajwa told the gathering, according to AFP.

"The aim of today's function is to recall how much blood was spilled," he said. "The wound is very deep and its complete healing is impossible".

Pakistan will continue its war against terrorists until it has eliminated every last one, he said.

The Taliban have said they carried out the attack, in which all nine gunmen died.
