Pakistani forces kill 4 militants, arrest 11 suspects

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistani forces recently killed four terrorists in Punjab and made 11 arrests in Balochistan, media reported.

Punjab Police in a gun battle recently killed the four in Sheikhupura District, where they were hiding as they plotted to attack sensitive installations, the Punjab Police Counter Terrorism Department said Wednesday (December 7), according to Dawn.

The terrorists belonged to Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the CTD said, adding that three or four militants escaped.

In Barkhan District, Balochistan, the Frontier Corps (FC) recently arrested 11 suspected militants, FC spokesperson Khan Wasey said Wednesday (December 7), according to Dawn.

Meanwhile, the Sindh Home Department on Wednesday (December 7) identified 62 banned outfits active in the province, Dawn reported, citing a provincial cabinet meeting. The 62 groups include 35 that re-emerged after the federal government banned them, the Home Department said.
