Pakistani violence kills 6 terrorists, 5 civilians, policeman

ISLAMABAD -- At least 12 Pakistanis, including six terrorists and a policeman, were killed in Punjab Province and in Karachi in a 48-hour span, media reported.

The Punjab Police Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) late October 29 in Khanewal District killed four members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in a shoot-out, Geo News reported.

An October 30 shoot-out in Faisalabad District, Punjab Province, left a policeman and his assailant both dead, Geo News reported. The gunman attacked a police team, Geo News reported.

In Sargodha District, Punjab Province, the CTD recently detained four suspected terrorists near a bus stand, Dunya TV reported October 30.

Separately in Karachi, Sindh Province, that province's CTD personnel October 30 killed one terrorist while the police and para-military Rangers nabbed 33 crime or terror suspects, Dunya TV and Geo News reported.

Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen late October 29 in Karachi attacked a Shia gathering, killing at least five worshippers, SAMAA reported.
