Pakistani violence kills 5; Sindh to launch operations against 93 seminaries

KARACHI -- At least three Pakistani terrorists and two customs officers were killed in separate incidents of violence in Karachi and in Balochistan, while police seized 21,000 cartridges with two suspects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The terrorists were killed in a shoot-out with the para-military Rangers October 25 in Karachi, Dawn reported. Two Rangers were injured.

Assassins October 24 in Mastung District, Balochistan, gunned down two Pakistani customs officers, police said, according to Dawn.

Police early October 26 in Mansehra, KP, made three arrests and seized 21,000 cartridges from a car, Geo News reported.

Meanwhile, the Sindh provincial government October 25 decided to launch operations against 93 seminaries accused of terrorist ties, the Express Tribune reported October 26.

Officials heard at the meeting that intelligence agencies have credible information about activities inside those seminaries.
