Pakistani violence kills 2 security officials

PESHAWAR -- An intelligence official and a policeman were killed in two separate incidents of violence in Charsadda District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and in Peshawar, media reported.

The slain intelligence sub-inspector, Akbar Ali, was targeted by two unknown motorcyclists at a bus stop near his home in Charsadda District October 24, District Police Officer (DPO) Suhail Khalid said.

The "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) claimed responsibility, according to SAMAA.

Separately, a roadside blast killed one policeman and wounded another in the Daudzai area of Peshawar October 25, Geo News reported.

The bomb squad defused more explosives in the area after the blast, said police.

Meanwhile, the Balochistan government October 24 released images of alleged perpetrators of the August 8 attack on Civil Hospital in Quetta and announced a reward of Rs. 10m (US $95,000) in cash for those who would assist investigators or report anything related to the facilitators of the tragedy, reported Geo News. More than 70 Pakistanis, mostly lawyers, were killed.
