Pakistani violence kills 9

ISLAMABAD -- Five suspected terrorists, among at least nine people, were killed and five militants arrested during separate security operations and incidents of violence in Pakistan.

At least three al-Qaeda suspects were killed in an encounter in Punjab's district of Gujranawala October 17, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of police confirmed, according to Geo News.

Separately, two other suspects were shot dead by Frontier Corps (FC) personnel during a combing operation in Naseerabad District of Balochistan province October 17, SAMAA reported.

Meanwhile, police detained five alleged miscreants, including a commander of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Swat, during search operation in Manghopir area of Karachi early October 18, Geo News reported.

In other news, a grenade attack on an Imambargah killed a child and wounded 20 others October 17 night in Liaquatabad FC Area, Karachi, Dunya TV reported.
