Pakistani violence kills 8 suspects, 4 security men

ISLAMABAD -- At least eight suspected terrorists, including a kidnapper of Shahbaz Taseer, and four security personnel were killed in separate incidents of violence in Pakistan.

Unidentified assailants attacked a Pakistani security post on Afghan border in Angor Adda area of South Wazir­istan Agency October 16, killing two Pakistani troops, Dawn reported. The attack was launched from the Birmal area in Afghan province of Paktika, sources said.

Two separate roadside blasts in Mohmand Agency killed a security man and wounded five others October 16, officials of the agency administration told Dawn.

In another incident of violence, unidentified assailants gunned down a policeman in North Nazimabad area of Karachi October 15, according to Dawn.

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police of Punjab killed at least six suspected terrorists of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in an encounter October 15 night in Sheikhupura, CTD said according to Dawn.

A kidnapper of Shahbaz Taseer, son of slain Punjab governor Salman Taseer was also among killed suspects, Geo News reported.

Two other suspects were killed and 11 arrested in combing operation in Quetta, Dawn reported October 17. The suspects are allegedly involved in killing of three Frontier Corps (FC) two days ago.
