GWADAR, Pakistan -- The Khuzdar District Council chairman and a former Balochistan provincial minister October 3 in Turbat narrowly escaped an assassination attempt, Dawn reported.
District Council Chairman Agha Shakeel Durrani, former senator and former provincial minister Mir Aslam Buledi, and two other men were travelling from the Mand area to Turbat when their convoy came under attack.
Levies personnel in the convoy returned fire, forcing the assailants to flee into the mountains, an official said, adding that nobody in the convoy was injured.
