KP marks Police Martyrdom Day; Quetta blast injures 5

PESHAWAR -- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) August 4 observed Police Martyrdom Day, while a remote-controlled bomb injured five Pakistanis in Quetta.

More than 1,300 KP police have died since 2007 in the war against terrorism Dunya TV reported.

Participants held a special ceremony at the grave of Safwat Ghayyur, the Frontier Constabulary (FC) commandant who was killed in a 2010 suicide bombing in Peshawar.

Peshawar Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Mubarak Zeb and other senior police officers participated in the ceremony, while an honour guard watched.

Meanwhile, a remote-controlled bomb exploded in Quetta August 3 while a security vehicle was passing through the area. Five people, including three security personnel were injured.
